You could shine at our Sept. 14 storytelling event

The Seattle Globalist is pleased to announce our first Moth-style storytelling event, “#GreaterSeattle: Stories of Finding Home” on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rainier Arts Center, showcasing diverse voices of South Seattle.

The Globalist is seeking story contributions through Monday, Aug. 29 that fall under the theme, “Finding Home.” “Stories of Finding Home” will highlight a wide range of experiences, from landing in the U.S. and adjusting to a new home, to resisting racism and displacement, to celebrating culture and identity.

In response to racist and xenophobic political slogans about “making America great again,” this storytelling night builds on The Globalist’s popular video series of the same mission, “#GreaterSeattle,” which profiles Seattle youth of the Somali, Sikh, Latino and Muslim diaspora. Their stories attest to our belief that our growing diversity is Seattle’s greatest strength.
