Author, Humane Society of the United States Leader Wayne Pacelle to Hold Seattle Event for Launch of New Book

Apr 30, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States and author of the forthcoming book The Humane Economy: How Innovators and Enlightened Consumers are Transforming the Lives of Animals (April 19, William Morrow/Harper Collins), will be discussing the themes of his book and signing copies at the University Book Store on April 30.

Pacelle’s first book The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them was a New York Times bestseller. In his new book, Pacelle describes a revolution in American business and public policy that is changing forever how we treat animals. He tells the story from the front lines, in a book that speaks to both mind and heart. Hailed as “a critically important book” by Jack Welch and “an essential read” by Jane Goodall, The Humane Economy describes how companies are improving the treatment of animals, including the recent announcement by SeaWorld that it is ending its orca breeding program.
