A staple of the Bolshoi repertory, this three-act ballet is filled with color, grand effects, and a rousing duel. Alexander Glazunov’s glorious score anchors this story of Raymonda, the niece of a French countess and betrothed to the knight Jean de Brienne. Separated by Jean’s commitment to aid King Andrei II in medieval times, another suitor is so dazzled by Raymonda’s beauty that he attempts to abduct her.
