OutRising: An Evening for Global LGBTIQ Equality
February 7 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$15 – $30
OutRising: An Evening for Global LGBTIQ Equality is the signature fundraising event for OutRight Action International, a 28-year-old organization fighting for human rights for LGBTIQ people around the world. Join us on February 7 for a fabulous evening of delicious appetizers, drinks, and the good company of 200+ OutRight fans and new friends at The Collective, a new “urban basecamp” in South Lake Union. Guest speakers will include OutRight’s Executive Director Jessica Stern, who has recently traveled to Beirut and Iraq, and was cited in the recent decision by the Supreme Court of India to strike down their anti-homosexuality law. We will also hear from OutRight’s Columbia Law School Public Service Fellow Ping “Hoping” Hou, who works with OutRight’s Asia and United Nations programs and founded an LGBTIQ organization in South China. We will auction off a few select and sensational items, including a 5-course private dinner party for ten prepared by chef Tom Black, getaways to Whidbey Island, Leavenworth, Palm Springs and Newport, Rhode Island, and tickets to see Michelle Obama in Tacoma on February 8! Tutta Bella has donated $25 gift cards for the first 20 people who make a donation during the program, and Cupcake Royale will top it all off with babycakes for dessert. Tickets are $30 ($15 for students). Learn more and register at www.outrightinternational.org/outrising
