The Seattle Globalist is looking for board candidates!

The Seattle Globalist is an award-winning nonprofit news and education organization dedicated to elevating diverse voices through media. We cover local-global issues—everything from immigration and politics to food, music, and the environment.

The Globalist is working to transform the face of media in the US, where people of color, immigrants, women, and many other groups are sorely underrepresented.

We have published stories by more than 600 contributors based in Seattle and all over the world. Our writers are 73% women, 67% people of color, and 45% immigrants or first generation Americans.

We are a young, dynamic organization that is growing fast and part of an ever-shifting shifting media landscape. We are seeking wonderful new people to join our working board. We are deeply committed to racial, ethnic, nationality, gender, religious, disability and other forms of diversity.

Our board meets monthly. Each board member commits to volunteering 5-10 hours a month, and supports Globalist fundraising work throughout the year. We are proud that 100% of our board makes an annual financial contribution to the organization.

We are currently seeking board candidates with expertise in the following fields: racial justice movements, fundraising (especially building major donor portfolios and membership programs), nonprofit law and regulations, HR, and the tech sector. All candidates must have a passion for racial equity and media.

All candidates must have a passion for diversity and global issues.
