Join The Seattle Globalist for the fourth annual Globie Awards on Friday October 14!

In just three years, the Globies has distinguished itself as the most energetic, quirky, feel-good fundraising event in Seattle. We’ll highlight the work of our best journalists and media makers and crown Seattle’s 2016 Globalist of the Year. We promise you won’t be bored!

Tickets have sold out three years running, so get ’em early.

This year we’ve got a new host and a new location: we’ll be celebrating with Hollis Wong-Wear at the Georgetown Ballroom. Join us for a night of dancing, drinks, and of course, the famous Globie Awards photo booth!

All proceeds benefit Seattle Globalist media makers and youth.

Nominate your Globalist of the Year

Do you know someone doing great work connecting the Seattle to the rest of the world? Someone whose tireless efforts embody the values of the Seattle Globalist: creativity, diversity, open-mindedness, social & economic justice, humanitarianism and community development?

Help us choose the 2016 Globalist of the Year by nominating the change-maker in your community. It’s as simple as filling out this quick nomination form. (Seriously, it should take less than five minutes to fill out!)

Last year, we honored Rita Maher of Tasveer for making Seattle a center for South Asian film and feminism. In 2014 it was Era Schrepfer for her work with international students at the University of Washington. And in 2013, Rita Zawaideh won the honor for her ongoing work serving Syrian refugees.

Who will be next? We want YOUR vote. Please help us choose the 2016 Globalist of the Year! We’re accepting nominations until July 6 – make yours today!
