Film & Touring Exhibit: REFUSENIK and “Power of Protest”

REFUSENIK (SJFF 2008), the first retrospective documentary about the 30-year human rights campaign to liberate Soviet Jews from behind the Iron Curtain, screens alongside a new touring exhibit  on display at Hillel UW. “Power of Protest: The Movement to Free Soviet Jews,” a new touring exhibit created by the National Museum of American Jewish History, explores the significance of this dramatic, risky, and emotionally fraught social justice movement. Also on view is a local companion exhibit, curated by Washington State Jewish Historical Societyand co-presented by Hillel UW, exploring Soviet Jews who came to Washington state. Arrive early before the film to view both exhibits on display March 12 – April 29 (check viewing hours online).

Free for students and SJFF pass holders.
