King-Snohomish County Regional Spelling Bee
Mar 13, 2016 @ 1:00 pm
Want to watch 70 middle-schoolers knock out words like lyceum, antipyretic, and kamikaze? So do we. The regional spelling bee brings together students from schools across King and Snohomish Counties who have already proven themselves to be fantastic spellers. Hopefully no one gets tongue-tied in this celebration of language, education, and hard work. The competition is incredibly fun and will leave you hanging on every last word. This year’s bee will be moderated by KCTS 9’s Feliks Banel, broadcast live on Seattle Channel 21 and streamed on their website. The last one standing advances to the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. In 1991, Amy Marie Dimak was the last national champion to hail from this area — her word was fibranne. One lucky student just might do the same in 2016.
