The Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) is the largest South Asian film festival in the United States. Now in its 13th year, TSAFF 2018 is a 10-day festival of thought-provoking films & forums on South Asia and its diaspora, to engage viewers to dialogue openly on the issues of human rights and social/political/economic justice.

Our spotlight country this year is Pakistan and our theme is #KnowMe. With our hashtag/theme we are trying to encourage filmmakers and audiences to challenge narratives and assumptions about South Asia.

The festival aims to initiate a dialog that bridges ideas, individuals, and communities by creating a deeper understanding of self in relation to the society. We use films as a powerful tool in our attempt to harbor inclusion. Our objective is to give marginalized communities a voice, with our end goal being to broaden perspectives and reduce (if not remove) stereotypes to foster happier and healthier communities.

The festival takes place from September 28th – Oct 7th, 2018, over 10 days, in 5 cities (Seattle, Bellevue, Bothell, Redmond & Renton) with more than 60 films and 5000 festival attendees.
