The Anatomy of Prejudice: Jane Elliott To Teach Her World Renowned Approach in Seattle

Dec 1, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

$25 – $89

Jane Elliott, anti-racism pioneer, activist, and educator, will lead her interactive presentation on “The Anatomy of Prejudice” in Seattle this December 1.

Gain valuable insights and tools designed to help eliminate racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia and ethnocentrism

Ms. Elliott, an internationally known teacher and trainer and recipient of the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education, exposes prejudice and bigotry for what it is—an irrational class system based upon purely arbitrary factors. This same system permeated the founding of most of our institutions where we collectively work, live, and learn.

Jane Elliott will guide the audience in exploring the problems of racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, and ethnocentrism, using her provocative teaching approach along with the Peabody Award-winning film, “The Eye of the Storm.” All attendees will be encouraged to discuss the issues raised as they relate to their own workplace, family, and community. This experience also offers participants the opportunity to explore how their own personal attitudes were formed. Ms. Elliott will emphasize the responsibility shared by all of us for illuminating the many forms of prejudice in ourselves and our environment and eliminating them for the benefit of everyone.
